McMinn Central is 0-7 against Roane County since March of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. McMinn Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
McMinn Central will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Thursday, then bounced right back against Loudon on Friday. The Chargers blew past the Redskins 13-6. The game was the first time the Chargers have beaten the Redskins on their field since April 29, 2022.

The team relied heavily on Riley Thompson, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayme Tiberio, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.
Thompson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: McMinn Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The Chargers are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday Roane County's undefeated season almost came to an end. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Polk County a 2-0 shutout. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Yellowjackets have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Polk County's batters probably weren't too happy with Sailor Presley, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 13 Ks (she gave up a single walk). Presley has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Roane County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rhyan Henslee, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Reese Newman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Roane County pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for McMinn Central, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Both McMinn Central and Roane County just can't seem to miss. The Chargers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. However, it's not like Roane County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 2.1 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
McMinn Central might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from Roane County in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
