Mathews was out to avenge their 6-61 loss to Washington & Lee from the last time they squared off against one another, but they had no such luck. Mathews were completely outmatched, falling 6-71 to Washington & Lee. This makes it the second loss in a row for Mathews. The game pushed Mathews down to 0-2 and pulled Washington & Lee up to the reverse 2-0.
Mathews will look to defend their home turf next week against Lancaster at 7:00 PM. Washington & Lee hope to keep the momentum going despite some extra time before their next contest against Rappahannock at 7:00 PM in two weeks.
