In a game postponed for a day because of a deluge, No. 13
DeSoto (Texas) kept pouring it on to beat No. 6
Duncanville (Texas) 49-35 in the biggest game in the Lone Star State this season.
It was the first victory in six games for DeSoto over Duncanvlle.
The Eagles started fast and strong as
D.J. Bailey found
Daylon Singleton for a 76-yard touchdown pass on the first offensive play of the game.
After Duncanville got a 34-yard field goal in its first possession, Singleton exploded for a 98-yard kickoff return to give DeSoto the 14-3 lead less than halfway through the opening quarter.
The Panthers would twice tie the game at 14-all and 21-all, but DeSoto scored 14 unanswered to end the half to take a 35-21 lead into the locker room. The Eagles got a half-ending touchdown from Bailey to
Antonio Pride for the 14-point edge.

Duncanville, which was playing without
Dakorien Moore in the first half after serving a suspension, got the ball to start the second half and got the the red zone but the Eagles held on fourth down for the turnover on downs.
And as high-scoring as the first half was, neither team found the end zone in the third period, but DeSoto scored on the second play of fourth on a short pass from Bailey to
Kristoff Fantroy for a 42-21 lead.
But Moore sold an out route and hit the double move as he got the pass in stride and cut the lead to 42-28 two plays into the Panthers' drive.
The DeSoto defense came up big on the ensuing Duncanville possession with a fourth-down stop with less than 7 minutes to play. The Eagles began to bleed clock eyeing the upset victory before
Marvin Duffey found the end zone to boost the lead back to 21 points - 49-28.
Moore added another touchdown with 2:55 left in the game, but it was too little for the Panthers.
