After flying high against the Cloverdale Clovers on Tuesday, the North Putnam Cougars came back down to earth. North Putnam took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Putnam on Friday. North Putnam lost against South Putnam in their previous head to head last Saturday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-32 score last time.
North Putnam's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jasmine Duvall, who scored 15 points, and Lexi Daigle who scored 10 points. Daigle scored a full 25.6% of North Putnam's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
North Putnam has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for South Putnam, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
North Putnam won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Edgewood at 6:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Edgewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for South Putnam, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Brown County at 3:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Brown County is ranked 190th, while South Putnam is ranked 187th).
