Both teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around on Tuesday.
Sierra Linda suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 86-24 loss at the hands of North Canyon. Sierra Linda has not had much luck with North Canyon recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Metro Tech struggled with assists on Tuesday (North Canyon had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Metro Tech took a serious blow against North Canyon, falling 75-30. Metro Tech was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.
Metro Tech's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Oswaldo Lopez Vargas, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks, and Ace Zambrano who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Lopez Vargas posted two or more blocks.
Sierra Linda's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Metro Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.
Sierra Linda might still be hurting after the 45-23 loss they got from Metro Tech in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Sierra Linda avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
