Eastwood has gone 7-1 against Elmwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Royals at 5:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Elmwood will be up against a hot Eastwood team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand Bellevue a 10-0 shutout on Friday.
Kadyn Donnell was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Connor Norton, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI.
Donnell wasn't the only one making solid contact: Eastwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Elmwood strolled into their game on Wednesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Vanlue. That's two games straight that the Royals have won by exactly ten runs.
Aidan Marsh made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zackery Gross, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Ryken Zeigler was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases.
Elmwood's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Eastwood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Friday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Eastwood has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .443. However, it's not like Elmwood struggles in that department as they've averaged .556. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Eastwood's way against Elmwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Eastwood made off with a 14-1 win. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Royals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
