The Veterans Memorial Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Tivy Antlers at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Veterans Memorial will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Friday, Veterans Memorial beat Wagner 3-1. Veterans Memorial found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: three Veterans Memorial players were handed yellow cards.
They hit Wagner with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Rodrigo Lozano-munoz,
Ramiro Garza, and
Luis Villar Ortiz.
Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Tivy were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. Their rough 5-0 defeat to Pieper might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Tivy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Pieper is ranked 102nd).
Veterans Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 9-7-2. As for Tivy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5-1.
Veterans Memorial suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Tivy in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can Veterans Memorial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
