The Berthoud Spartans can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 92-56 victory over Valley. With Berthoud ahead 48-25 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Reece Stratmeyer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Erickson, who scored 14 points along with eight assists.
Defeat or not, Valley got some senior leadership from Aidan Brownell and Owen Peterson. Brownell scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, while Peterson. scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Seth Kissler, who scored seven points.
Berthoud's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Valley, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berthoud will take on Wray at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Wray is ranked 90th, while Berthoud is ranked 111th). As for Valley, they will be playing at home against DSST: College View at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Averaging 62.2 so far this season, DSST: College View's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Valley better be ready for a challenge.
