The Trinity Christian Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 40-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dreyfoos School of the Arts. Trinity Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dreyfoos School of the Arts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elsheema Saintyl, who scored ten points. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Sammantha Monier, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Trinity Christian Academy's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.8 points per game. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Trinity Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Berean Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Berean Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trinity Christian Academy in Florida (Berean Christian is ranked 219th, while Trinity Christian Academy is ranked 564th). Dreyfoos School of the Arts will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Forest Hill at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
