After flying high against the Arlington Memorial Eagles last Friday, the Twin Valley Wildcats came back down to earth. Twin Valley fell just short of Rivendell Academy by a score of 57-54. Twin Valley was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rivendell Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Twin Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Dornburgh, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Dornburgh continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden Brown, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 assists.
Twin Valley's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. As for Rivendell Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Twin Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Mill River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Twin Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for Rivendell Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Woodstock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
