It was a good run, but the Lake Forest Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their 12-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Seaford by a score of 65-62. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lake Forest in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now lost seven in a row.
Leading Seaford to victory were Vincent Evans and Omari Nichols. Evans scored 13 points along with five assists and four steals, while Nichols dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. Evans hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Smith, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Lake Forest's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-1. As for Seaford, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Lake Forest will face off against the Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Delaware (Milford is ranked 33rd, while the Spartans are ranked 17th). As for Seaford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spartans at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday.
