The West Mifflin Titans were the 46-45 winner over the Quaker Valley Quakers when they last played one another on January 5th, but their luck changed this time around. West Mifflin received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 73-57 to the Quakers. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Quaker Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zach Washington, who scored 25 points. Washington continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Coyle, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten assists.
West Mifflin's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Quaker Valley, they pushed their record up to 9-8 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home.
West Mifflin will head out on the road to square off against the Gladiators at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Allegheny presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Titans in Pennsylvania (the Gladiators are ranked 92nd, while the Titans are ranked 287th). As for Quaker Valley, they will be playing at home against the Antelopes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Avonworth knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully the Quakers likes a good challenge.
