After only ten points in their last game, The Garces Memorial Rams made sure to put some points up on the board against the Stockdale Mustangs on Thursday. Garces Memorial really took it to Stockdale for the full four quarters, racking up a 34-7 win on the road. Given Garces Memorial's advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 144th, while Stockdale is ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Garces Memorial's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gunter Golla, who threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes. Nathaniel Wallace was in the mix too, providing Garces Memorial with three touchdowns.
Garces Memorial's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Logan Slaton and his two sacks.
Garces Memorial's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-5. As for Stockdale, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
