Drummond is 9-0 against Winter since December of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Drummond Lumberjacks will look to defend their home court against the Winter Warriors at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Wisconsin (Drummond is ranked 308th, while Winter is ranked 316th).
Drummond has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 37-36 to South Shore.
Meanwhile, Winter had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.9 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Saturday. They strolled past Birchwood with points to spare, taking the game 106-87. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Winter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Curtis Thompson, who scored 29 points along with six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Malte Colliander, who scored 25 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Drummond has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-6 record this season. As for Winter, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Drummond took their victory against Winter when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 58-36. Does Drummond have another victory up their sleeve, or will Winter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
