Eastern couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a  blow  on Friday as they fell  59-45 to the Borden Braves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Musketeers of the  57-31 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in November of 2023.
 Despite the loss, Eastern still got an impressive performance from   Addison Smith, who  scored 18 points plus two  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sidney Burton, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on nine points and nine  rebounds.
 Eastern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  game,  a  43-36  win against Crawford County on the 9th. As for Borden, they will look to defend their home court  on Tuesday against Christian Academy  at 6:00  p.m.
