Meanwhile, Patterson Mill had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Lily Baldwin's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mackenzie Knight was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Ward, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Patterson Mill pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for C. Milton Wright, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. C. Milton Wright hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Patterson Mill struggles in that department as they've averaged .382. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 C. Milton Wright might still be hurting after the 10-2 loss they got from Patterson Mill in their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
