A well-balanced attack led the Abbeville Panthers over the Mid-Carolina Rebels in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Abbeville came out on top against Mid-Carolina by a score of 68-58. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Abbeville.
Abbeville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Damarcus Leach led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Leach hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Rollinson, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Mid-Carolina's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Connor Cromer, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, and Jacob Clark who scored 17 points. Kaden Myers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Abbeville has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Mid-Carolina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.
Abbeville will be playing at home against Newberry at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newberry will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Abbeville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mid-Carolina, they will head out on the road to challenge Saluda at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Mid-Carolina focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
