On Thursday, the Barrington Eagles faced the Portsmouth Patriots in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Barrington walked away with a 66-59 win over the Patriots. The victory was familiar territory for Barrington who now have five in a row.
Nick Scandura was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Raffa, who scored 18 points.
Barrington's win bumped their record up to 16-1. As for Portsmouth, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-6.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Cumberland the next time they take the court. Barrington will head out to face the Clippers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Patriots will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
