It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Belen Jesuit Wolverines can now relate to. They suffered a tough 31-7 defeat at the hands of the Patriots on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Miramar to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eric Nelson, who picked up 248 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Nelson's longest reception was for an incredible 85 yards. Another player making a difference was Kael Alexander, who threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt.
Belen Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Miramar, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Belen Jesuit does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Miramar will head out on the road to face off against Homestead at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Homestead sitting on nine straight wins and Miramar on four.
