On Wednesday, Kohelet Yeshiva humbled Kimberton Waldorf with a 70-21 victory. Given Kohelet Yeshiva's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Kimberton Waldorf is ranked 134th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Kohelet Yeshiva to victory were Asher Kahlon and Chezky Levitt. Kahlon scored 15 points, while Levitt scored 20 points. The match was Kahlon's third in a row with at least ten points. Izzy Weiner was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Despite the defeat, Kimberton Waldorf saw an underclassman step up: Franklin Matichak scored 8 points along with 5 steals. Another player making a difference was Martin Rice, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Kohelet Yeshiva and bumps their season record up to 2-1. As for Kimberton Waldorf, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kohelet Yeshiva is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Foundation Collegiate Academy at 4:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Kimberton Waldorf, they will take on Life Center Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Life Center Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 75.9 points per game.
