Ahoskie Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Bethel Assembly Christian Academy 79-56. The win was familiar territory for Ahoskie Christian who now have 24 in a row.
Morgan Wadsworth continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 38 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 20 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ahoskie Christian's points. Lacey Berryman was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Bethel Assembly Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Lauren Taylor and Coleen Askew. Taylor scored 16 points along with five steals, while Askew scored 16 points. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Bazemore, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Ahoskie Christian's win was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Bethel Assembly Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ahoskie Christian and the Warriors will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mount Calvary Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Bethel Assembly Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Suffolk Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday.
