After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rock Canyon, the Rampart Rams were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-51 victory over Chatfield. For Rampart, this counts as revenge for the 67-60 loss Chatfield walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Rampart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Deangelo Smith, who scored 18 points. Haydn Benoit was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Chatfield's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Merek Chuita, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists, and Colin Mote who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Brody Logan, who scored 4 points.
The win got Rampart back to even at 1-1. As for Chatfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Rampart will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Douglas County at 3:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Chatfield, they will square off against Liberty at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Liberty focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
