The North Callaway Thunderbirds can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against Louisiana as North Callaway made off with a 60-40 win. Winning is a bit easier when you drain six more threes than your opponent, as North Callaway did.
Leading North Callaway to victory were Isiah Craighead and Sam Pezold. Craighead scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Pezold scored 22 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. The match was Craighead's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Paul Russell was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Louisiana's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jamal Blackwell, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds, and Javon Ries who scored nine points along with five rebounds. Blackwell continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
North Callaway's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Louisiana, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
North Callaway's road trip will continue as they head out to face Paris at 11:30 a.m. on December 16th. As for Louisiana, they will face off against Palmyra at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
