Bear River came up short against Ridgeline on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Despite the loss, Bear River saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jason Ashby had eight kills, five digs, and one block.
Meanwhile, Green Canyon got the win against Logan on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.
Green Canyon not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Logan between 15 and 17 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17, 25-17.
Bear River better focus on containing Griffin Blau and Cameron Henrie as the pair were huge in Green Canyon's win. Blau had 22 digs, while Henrie had eight digs and three aces. Blau is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last 13 games he's played.
Green Canyon's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Bear River, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Bear River hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4.8 blocks per game. However, it's not like Green Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.1 blocks. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
