The Monticello Buckaroo will face off against the Panguitch Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Monticello headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for five straight, but Pinnacle let them put that streak behind them. The Buckaroo put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-2 victory on Friday. The Buckaroo's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Taylor Barry made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.3 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Monticello let Maya Lopez and Jocelyne Francom run wild. Lopez scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Francom scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Lopez also put up a hit, which was her first of the season. Shaydin Freestone was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Monticello always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
21 must be Panguitch's lucky number: they beat Water Canyon with that score not once but twice on Monday. The Bobcats blew past the Wildcats 21-6. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Hailee Yadley was a standout: she scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Jessop, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.
Panguitch's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Monticello, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Monticello has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .490. However, it's not like Panguitch struggles in that department as they've averaged .600. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
