Football Recap: Middletown Sets Scoring Season-High Against Pine Bush

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Middletown). They took down the Pine Bush Bushmen 24-8 on Friday. The Middie Bears haven't had any issues with the Bushmen recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Ruben Simpson Jr and Jemire Bey-Dominick certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Simpson Jr rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown, while Bey-Dominick rushed for 61 yards. Bey-Dominick was even better on defense, making five total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Middletown's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Pine Bush, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Meanwhile, Pine Bush will face off against rival Monroe-Woodbury at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Simpson Jr and NATHANIEL COULANGES.
