The Orange Lions waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Hawken by a score of 39-31. This was payback for Orange, who suffered a 46-45 loss the last time these two teams met.
Orange was led to victory by Kynnade Bates and Rachel Oberster. Bates scored 12 points, while Oberster scored 17 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Oberster has scored at least a third of Orange's points.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julia Scales, who scored five points along with 19 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Cicerini, who scored eight points along with four steals.
