Eastern is a perfect 10-0 against Tri-Central since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Comets are taking a road trip to take on the Trojans at 5:30 p.m.
Eastern's last matchup with Western could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Monday. The Comets lost 18-3 to the Panthers. The loss continues a trend for the Comets in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Tri-Central made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wes-Del on Monday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 12-6 win. Considering the Trojans' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Sam Chapman made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Chapman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Arnold, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Nate Cherry was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Tri-Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Tri-Central, they moved to 2-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Eastern got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Tri-Central by a conclusive 9-0 score. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
