The Sulphur Springs Wildcats will face off against the Pittsburg Pirates at 6:00 p.m. Pittsburg took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sulphur Springs, who comes in off a win.

Sulphur Springs will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Paris on Wednesday. Sulphur Springs put the hurt on Paris with a sharp 17-0 win. Sulphur Springs hasn't had any issues with Paris recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Abbey Goldsmith made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits she has allowed over her last five contests. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI.

In other batting news, Sulphur Springs got a massive performance out of Hannah Speed, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Speed a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Emerson Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

Sulphur Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Pittsburg fell victim to Mt. Pleasant and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 6-0 to the Tigers. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Pittsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Sulphur Springs, their record now sits at 14-4.

Everything went Sulphur Springs' way against Pittsburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Sulphur Springs made off with an 11-0 win. Will Sulphur Springs repeat their success, or does Pittsburg have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
