Jacob Janata posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Friday. He struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has become a key player for Valley Center: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least ten strikeouts, but 8-9 otherwise.
