Softball Recap: Brighton Has No Trouble Against West

Brighton won against Highland on Tuesday with 18 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Bengals never let the West Panthers get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory. The matchup marked the Bengals' most dominant win of the season.

Alison Nikolaus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Nikolaus was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Cynthia Knowlton was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Audrey Fleckenstein was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Brighton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Brighton's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-12. As for West, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's still a better percentage than their 4-15 record this season.
