The Wind River Cougars won the last time they faced the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies, and things went their way on Friday too. Wind River came out on top against Rocky Mountain by a score of 47-39. That eight points margin sets a new team best for Wind River this season.
Rocky Mountain's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lafe Files, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellan Jackson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Wind River's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Rocky Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wind River the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Dubois on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Dubois is ranked 60th, while Wind River is ranked 53rd). As for Rocky Mountain, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Big Horn at 4:30 p.m. on January 27th.
