The Red Bud Musketeers will face off against the Steeleville Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Red Bud is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Red Bud was able to grind out a solid victory over Dupo, taking the game 6-3. The Musketeers haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Olivia Geralds was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Kreher, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julia Whelan, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Steeleville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 7-3 to Herrin.
Steeleville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karsen Wedemeyer, who scored a run while going 1-for-4. Shaylee Ayers also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Red Bud pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Steeleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
Steeleville's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Red Bud hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .417. It's a different story for Steeleville, though, as they've only averaged .193. Will they be able to contain Red Bud's hitters?
Red Bud took their victory against Steeleville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 28-0 score. Will the Musketeers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
