West Caldwell is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Newton-Conover is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The West Caldwell Warriors will take on the Newton-Conover Red Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. West Caldwell has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,254 points over their last 17 games.
Even though East Burke scored an imposing 68 points on Tuesday, West Caldwell still came out on top. West Caldwell managed a 73-68 win over East Burke. Given West Caldwell's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while East Burke is ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jay Maxwell, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Fox, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Even though Newton-Conover has not done well against Maiden recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Newton-Conover snuck past Maiden with a 56-51 win.
West Caldwell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Newton-Conover, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
