After flying high against Suburban Christian last Tuesday, the Kokomo HomeSchool Eagles came back down to earth. Kokomo HomeSchool took a 78-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Wayne HomeSchool on Saturday. It was the first time this season that Kokomo HomeSchool let down their fans at home.
Kokomo HomeSchool lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being David Hart, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Grayson Hembree was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Fort Wayne HomeSchool's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sam Newcomer led the charge by scoring 28 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Graber, who scored 31 points along with five rebounds.
Kokomo HomeSchool's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-11. As for Fort Wayne HomeSchool, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Kokomo HomeSchool will square off against Columbus HomeSchool at 11:20 a.m. on Friday. As for Fort Wayne HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to take on Mishawaka HomeSchool W at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Mishawaka HomeSchool W focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 back in December of 2023.
