Baseball Recap: Pine Creek Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Pine Creek had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 on Tuesday.

Tristan Mullis made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other pitching news, Matthew Brady looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Aiden Wilson was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Brayden Moreno was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

Pine Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matchups.

Pine Creek's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-11.

Pine Creek has already played their next contest, a 19-3 victory against Air Academy on the 28th. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Pueblo West on the 29th.
