Maclay hasn't had much luck against North Florida Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Marauders will face off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Friday, Maclay was able to grind out a solid win over Chambers Academy, taking the game 38-28. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Marauders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 263rd in Florida, while the Rebels are ranked 106th in Alabama).
Beau Beshears produced another solid performance throwing for 276 yards and two TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (145.4). A healthy portion of Beshears' aerial production (127 yards to be exact) went to Henry Richardson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Maclay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Richardson and Jace Wright. With that strong performance, Wright is now averaging an impressive 5.1 total tackles per game. Maclay received some extra help from Tucker Poppell, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Florida Christian). They blew past FAMU DRS 49-12 on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.
A big part of North Florida Christian's win came down to the chemistry between Tommy Coyne and his top target Kyle Estimond. Coyne threw for 184 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 passes while Estimond picked up 72 receiving yards and two scores.
North Florida Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 215 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to North Florida Christian's defense and their six sacks. NKari Green was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Arius Burt was another major factor on D, making six total tackles (2.0 for loss) and snagged an interception.
The victory got North Florida Christian back to even at 3-3. As for Maclay, their record is now 6-1.
Everything came up roses for Maclay against North Florida Christian in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Marauders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
