The King's Academy Lions pushed their score all the way to 69 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Boyd Anderson 75-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (66), King's Academy still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why King's Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Javian Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Jones continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Alicea, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Boyd Anderson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Theodore Richardson III out in front who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richardson III has scored all season. Jaydan Silvera was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for King's Academy and nudges their season record down to 12-4. As for Boyd Anderson, the win got them back to even at 8-8.
King's Academy on the road again on Saturday and play against Miramar at 1:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Boyd Anderson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
