There's no place like home for the Wausa Vikings, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They secured a 52-48 W over Winside on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Wausa also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Wausa got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Schindler out in front who scored 15 points. Brady Bloomquist was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Winside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Austin Nelson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Schutt, who scored 18 points.
Wausa now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Winside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Osmond/Randolph the next time they take the court. Winside will head out to face Osmond/Randolph at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, while Wausa will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
