The Eldorado Golden Eagles came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Piedra Vista by a score of 45-35. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Eldorado also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Bella Hines was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 32 points and nine rebounds. That makes it 15 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Eldorado's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chioma Holyfield, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Piedra Vista's loss came despite strong showings from Tyra Holyan and Jaime Pierce. Holyan scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Pierce scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Jordis Fage, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Eldorado pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Piedra Vista, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eldorado will face off against the Matadors at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sandia has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 267 points over their last four games. As for Piedra Vista, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. La Cueva is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
