The biggest upset of the week belonged to Silverado, who took down 375th ranked Silverado, 25-17. James Noble ran for 341 yards in the win.
Davondre Jackson of Victor Valley ran for the longest rushing play in Desert Sky this season against Burroughs last week. Jackson scampered for 85 yards on the play and finished with 95 on the day as his team lost to the Burros.
Victor Valley's dynamic duo of Eric Turner and Marquis Wimberly proved tough for Burroughs to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Turner threw for 103 yards and Wimberly had 74 yards receiving. Isiah Lloyd helped Victor Valley's passing attack out by catching three balls for 15 yards.
Todd Mather's team's Ej Watts and Jackson French have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Watts has thrown for 1213 yards this season, while French has 44 catches for 733 yards. Noble from Barstow leads the league in rushing with 1973 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Aztecs take on Granite Hills. At the moment, Barstow is in first, while the Cougars are in fifth.
Mike Esposito's team moved up to 462 from 503 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Desert Sky. The Aztecs were able to make move up by topping the Hawks 25-17.
