It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Miller Buccaneers can now relate to. They took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Friday. Miller's loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Miller still got an impressive performance from Broderick Taylor, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last 12 games he's played.
Veterans Memorial was led to victory by Michael Montoya and Gilbert Trillo. Montoya rushed for 106 yards and four touchdowns, while Trillo rushed for 137 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Miller's loss dropped their record down to 13-1. As for Veterans Memorial, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Miller does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Veterans Memorial will face off against Smithson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Smithson Valley: 12.9, Veterans Memorial: 15.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
