Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Trey Smith stepped things up a notch to give Genoa-Hugo/Karval the 'W'. Deer Trail had no answer to Smith as he scored 19 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Genoa-Hugo/Karval's points.
Smith and Genoa-Hugo/Karval won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kit Carson at 12:00 p.m. on February 10th. Smith hasn't had any trouble running up the score (he's averaged 19.1 per game this season), but it's looking like he'll have his work cut out for him against Kit Carson's dominant defense.
