After two games on the road, Oakmont is heading back home. They will take on The Nevada Union Miners at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Oakmont might've scored the first points on Thursday, but it was Lincoln who claimed the real prize. Oakmont fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 16-13.
Luke Scott put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Nevada Union came up short against Placer on Friday and fell 35-28. Nevada Union has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still came through with several impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Liam Crossen, who threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns. Max Mcmaster was another key contributor, picking up 114 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Oakmont's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged ten points per game. Nevada Union has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Oakmont was dealt a bruising 53-7 defeat at the hands of Nevada Union when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Oakmont have more luck at home instead of on the road?
