The Lakota Raiders will head out on the road to take on the Oak Harbor Rockets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Oak Harbor took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lakota, who comes in off a win.
Lakota was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against St. Joseph Central Catholic on Wednesday. The Raiders blew past the Crimson Streaks 12-2. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Raiders this season.

Grant Bomer made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Grant Scherger was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Graham Harmon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Lakota was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Joseph Central Catholic only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Oak Harbor fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Eastwood on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 9-8. The Rockets have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
Like Lakota, Oak Harbor also got a great game from a two-way player: Michael LaLonde. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. LaLonde was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Cooper Schultz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Brayden Butzin was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
Lakota is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Oak Harbor fell to 5-1.
Oak Harbor's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lakota hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. It's a different story for Oak Harbor, though, as they've only averaged .248. Will they be able to contain Lakota's hitters?
