The Mountain House Mustangs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 31-9 margin over Ceres. The result was nothing new for Mountain House, who have now won three games by 22 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain House to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amare Brooks, who threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Cedrick Major, who rushed for 121 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.
Mountain House's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Ceres, Beyer, and Davis. As for Ceres, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Mountain House will be playing in front of their home fans against Lathrop at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Lathrop is ranked 490th, while Mountain House is ranked 481st). As for Ceres, they will head out on the road to face off against Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
