The Bowie Bears had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 63-62 victory over Riverside. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Riverside still got an impressive performance from Luis Rodriguez, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rodriguez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Jauregui, who scored 14 points.
Bowie is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-17.
Bowie will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Austin at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Austin is on a three-game streak of home wins, Bowie a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Riverside will take on Fabens at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverside is facing Fabens at the right time seeing as Fabens is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
