The Marlington Dukes were the 38-37 winner over the Alliance Aviators when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Marlington took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Aviators.
Marzae Gantz went supernova for Alliance, scoring 19 points along with six assists and five steals. Gantz hasn't dropped below three steals for three straight games. Jayla Callock was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Marlington's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Alliance, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.
Marlington will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Panthers at 6:45 p.m. Alliance is on the road again on Saturday and plays the Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Canton South focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday.
