The Natchez Bulldogs put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Wilkinson County 68-52. Given Natchez's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Wilkinson County is ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Natchez's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Patrick Banks led the charge by scoring 14 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daylan Haywood, who scored 13 points along with 4 steals.
Natchez's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Wilkinson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Natchez will take on Vicksburg at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Vicksburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Wilkinson County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against McComb at 5:00 p.m. McComb has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
