Western Wayne moved up to 365 from 401 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Lackawanna 2. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of topping Honesdale 47-19.
Dunmore extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mid Valley, 34-12. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Bucks.
Dunmore's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Kujawski threw for 119 and two touchdowns and Mike Kolcharno had 76 yards receiving. On the ground Daiqwon Buckley chipped in 261 yards. John Rinaldi helped Dunmore's passing attack out by catching two balls for 22 yards.
The Hornets' Kevin Miller and Kyle Carney have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Miller has thrown for 985 yards this season, while Carney, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 19 catches for 407 yards. Robbie Siclari from Western Wayne leads the league in rushing with 1248 yards.
The top two teams in Lackawanna 2 will face off this week when first place Dunmore takes on second place Riverside. Last week, Jack Henzes' team bested the Spartans, while Riverside fell to Lakeland.
Chris Roche of the the Chiefs is only 90 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Roche has rushed for 910 yards on 130 carries so far this year.
The Wildcats took down Honesdale 47-19 last week, the largest margin of any game. Siclari ran for 235 yards in the win.
